Fractions with Playdough

In term 3 we spent a couple of weeks exploring fractions. We started off making halves, thirds and quarters out of playdough.  It was challenging to work out what three halves looked like! 

Flossy the Lamb

Today Room 18 saw a lamb called Flossy with Room 16.  Thank you Mrs Brown for bringing her to school. She is sooooo cute and we love her baaaaaaaaaaa!!

A sad day for us all on Friday.  Piripi is moving back to Hamilton, his home town and although we will miss him we are glad he is excited about seeing all his old friends!

Mrs Twit

WALT describe a character.

Cackling while having tea, Mrs Twit put worms in Mr Twits gross spaghetti . Her big bulging fat tummy pushed the table over and all the slimy worms came crashing down on Mr Twit. The next day, she put her round glass eye in his over due beer and put another glass eye in her eye socket. He said, "This isn't one of your tricks?!"
"No!" replied Mrs Twit .
He drank it and spat it out all over Mrs Twits ugly face .
One day, while she was out getting groceries , Mrs Twit saw her enemies, children. She ran up to them and started whacking them with her wooden brown crooked walking stick .The children ran up and down the road. Then she did a belly flop on them and laughed out loud.

FRIENDS

We have been learning how to recognise  feelings by looking at facial expressions and body language. Here we had to work together to decide how a dog was feeling. Every session we do a relaxing exercise. It is so awesome sometimes we want to fall asleep.

Cultural festival

A reminder that the bus leaves at 11.30 and arrives back at around 3.15 .

Tesalating shapes

This morning room 18 did some Maths called tesselating shapes. We had to make a shape that did not have any gaps using different shapes. Then we had to make a patten with the other teachers shapes.  By Samantha and Bree.

Rimu winners

Year 3 to year 0 took part in a house assembly that was in the new hall.It was fun because we got to run and jump lots,it was really like Athletics.At. The  end  Rimu won 6036 we thought it was tough. It was an amazing game and weI cheered for Conner. By Oliver and Matthew

Year 123 house assembly

In the hall we had a house assembly.We had to jump over stuff and go under a table and throw bean bags into a hoop and run back.We had lots of fun.By Chris and Mashal

Drummers

Today all of the school was lucky enough to witness a percussion extravaganza! Mr Sparkles, Mr T and Chip were amazing!!!!

Kitchen Experiments

Room 18 have been doing experiments.People have been bringing their experiments
into class to share. All of the people have done interesting experiments. By Cleo & Chloe.

Room 13s art

Room 18 has been doing weaving. We need to be very resolute when we do this. It is pretty tricky!

Reading Crusade

Today at singing assembly we had a draw to see who would be going to meet the Crusaders. All the people who completed the Reading Crusade form went into the draw. The winner was Bradford Thomson, Room 1.

Yogi pod

On Friday we got to have Yogipod and it was delicious. Yogipod is the best frozen yoghurt in the whole wide world. The flavours are blueberry, strawberry and raspberry. Nicola, Harrison's mum is good at making yummy frozen yoghurt.

We put lots of colours on our paper with crayon first then we painted black over the top. The next day we used nails to make our scraper pictures. We think they look cool.

In a Minutes Time

Room 18 has been learning about Time with sand.  We have been learning about minutes.  Today we had to make a sand timer that lasted for 1 minute. We had to go in pairs and share the stopwatches and equipment. We found using the timers hard so we are going to have another go tomorrow. By Keira & Bree.
